The foundation was then coated with waterproofing tar.

Joe D dug the hole for the septic tank.

Joe D also worked to start building up the grade around the foundation so the cement trucks will be high enough to empty their loads.
Joe also finished graveling the cellar, it is now ready for the slab to be poured.

Looks like we may have made the police log again, as well as the front lot.
7:18 am A caller on West Elm Street complained that a construction company across the street had left a portable toilet in sight for the workers. Some one had moved it up against her garage door and when she opened the door it fell over. The company was called to remove it.

7:28 pm Police received a complaint of heavy equipment operating on West Elm Street. Officer Greg DeBoer checked the area but did not find anything.
It looked like we may be off to a bad start as one of the form trucks got stuck in the leaching field. Joe D pulled him out quickly.
By lunchtime the first Cement trucks were showing up at the site.

The Leach Field is getting close to being filled.
More work was done preparing the base of the cellar hole for the pouring of the footings on Thursday. Joe D built up a 3' base of 6" stone and then topped it off with smaller gravel.

The leach field is almost filled with sewer gravel and the area in front of the foundation is starting to approach finish grade.
Leach Field

Back Wall
On Saturday Joe D dug out our leaching field with the help of little Joe. Joe got his opportunity to drive the excavator. (or as Joe would call it "backhoe") Unfortunatly we didn't get any pictures.
Below is the excavation for the leaching field.
Little Joe also did some inspection of the cellar hole.
The picture below show a rough outline of the house on the cellar hole.
