Today the framing crew filled in the last section of roof between the garage and the house. It doesn't quite look like we had anticipated. I think it will probably need some tweakin...

The roof over the master bath was installed today.

The Cellar stairs were installed today. View From the Front.

More work on the roofs. We ran into some difficulty on the roof that attaches the house to the garage. The way the roofline is on the plans we would have only a 58" high doorway to access the extra space in our attic. We changed this section of the roof to a gambrel and it appears to have provided us the necessary headroom to be able to utilize the main attic. The missing section below is what is going to be done as a Gambrel.

Here is the view from the Main attic looking back at the roof of the garage over the entrance from the stairs.

Yesterday we visited New Bedford to pick up the old pocket doors from Gramp's old house. we plan to use them in the upstairs hall to the kids bedrooms. They will need a lot of refinishing work. This morning the lumber for the second floor walls and the roof was delivered:

Due to the extreme heat the framers could only work half a day. They still managed to get some of the second floor walls up.

This post is not about the house in Hopkinton, it is actually some pictures of Gramps' old house in NB. The new owners have really spruced it up.

Today the cement guy came and cut the concrete floors in ordeer to control cracking:

We were also surprised by someone dropping of a load or two of clean fill. I guess the sign we put up earlier in the week is starting to work.

It is going to be a slow week as the framing crew is on vacation. While they are gone we have decided to go with the "New Orleans" / "Florida" look for the house.
This weekend Joe and I did a little cleanup in the house. I thought Pepere would enjoy the photos below.

The framers were able to move the concrete cutouts so they don't get in the way of the cement floor guys who are expected next week:
We were fortunate to receive some free fill from a local person who is having an inground pool installed. We need about 10 more pools to get us close to where we need to be for fill:
